Hot Pink for a Hot Momma!

Life's blessings are so rewarding, and no one can deny that a baby blessing is one of the most miraculous blessings of all. Sandra & Mo are such incredible parents already, and they wanted nothing more this year than to get pregnant and add to their, already amazing, little family. Baby Olivia is on her way and we couldn't be more excited for them.

I began planning for this event a few months back. I wanted to incorporate a modern twist to a traditional shower setting. So the planning began, and a hot pink and lime green concept was the core of all the details. We designed and produced the custom invitations with matching brunch menus, which were placed at each seat. We offered Galaxy Raspberry premium table linen with apple green satin napkins. The napkins along with a red velvet cake pop from The Sweet Pop Shoppe were tucked inside of a pacifier at each place setting. So cute. Our green vases couldn't have been more perfect, along with fresh hot pink hydrangeas and a simple butterfly/peacock feather to add a little detail.

Our friends over at Shulas 347 hooked it up with an AMAZING brunch menu selection. From chicken and salmon to pancakes and french toast, there was a little bit of everything to choose from. Simply delicious!

Simple Centerpieces

Hi Friends! Today I wanted to share some helpful tips on saving yourself some money on your big day. So many of my clients are consumed by the pictures they find online and in magazines and in search of the "ah-ha" details. When they finally realize that these details are out of their budget, they quickly turn to me for advise. My first response is to remember that "less is more!" Many times the simplest centerpieces are the most creative and memorable. Below are some ideas that will help keep your costs down.

First- remember that candles look amazing and add ambiance to the room. Therefore I always say to add candles to ANY centerpiece. (at least 4 per table) Some people use votive candles, floating candles, taper candles and some even hang tea lights from the centerpiece. Either way, they all look great. This helps add elegance and isn't expensive.

Second- single flowers being submerged in a cylinder vase are always pretty. Sometimes I add a floating candle to add a little touch. Adding rocks to the bottom of the vase also adds a little detail, while keeping costs low.

Third- Are you one of those people that dislike greenery in your centerpiece? Looking for flower fillers and not green leaves all over the place? Well my solution is to always use hydrangeas. They are an inexpensive flower and their blooms are perfect to use to fill empty space in your arrangement. These flowers are also able to be spray painted in any color. They are perfect for the economical bride.

50 Years Later! Happy Anniversary Daysi & Elio!

Early in life we always wonder if we will find our perfect soul mate. Sometimes we do and sometimes we struggle in our quest. For Daysi & Elio, struggle was never a factor. This happy couple has recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. It was a magical night where we celebrated their happiness and their journey. With over 120 guests, we had a packed house, literally.

Michelle, their daughter and my previous employer, called me to take care of the details. I immediately said YES, without hesitation. And so the details and planning began. What better way to celebrate their roots by having a Cuban themed event? It was perfect. We had bright colors all over the place. We had dancers dressed up and welcoming the guests, while offering them a mojito! Guests were asked to take a picture of themselves behind a rumba dancer character cut-out. Hilarious! That picture was given to the guests as they left the party. We had the couple renew their vows immediately after they watched a slideshow created by us, capturing their amazing journey. Ceremony was conducted by Frank Nunez.

The presentation was amazing, if I may say so myself. Everything was glowing, the presents barely fit on the table, the guests were laughing and dancing, and I was so touched to have been in charge of this magical night.

I took a moment in the night and pinched myself because for a minute there, I was able to smile and say... I did it! Enjoy!

Daysi & Elio: Thank you for the touching message you left me. I still have it saved. I am so happy you were as happy as I was. Thank you for letting me be a part of such a special moment in your lives.

From FIU to the words "I Do"- Susie & George

Mr. & Mrs. Carvajal with their BEERS!

Where do I begin? Let's see, I met Susie months ago for an initial consultation. We totally hit it off and a contract was in the works. Susie then decided to join one of my contests and went head to head with another contestant. With such an amazing group of friends and family, George and Susie pulled it off. They WON! I was so happy for them, and then the planning began.

Susie and George met at FIU, so they felt it was only appropriate to incorporate FIU as a central theme and concept. How's that possible, you may be asking yourself. Well the answer is easy. Incorporating blue and gold was the main idea. From blue lights and adorable blue shot glasses to table numbers and candy bags, everything was mixed together to create a truly amazing evening. The school mascot, Roary, even paid a visit and led the guests during the Cupid Shuffle.

Their engagement session was taken at FIU and an adorable sign-in book was created for guests to leave happy wishes for the newlyweds. A candy station was also included and was a total hit. All the kiddies went crazy, needless to say, and with over 150 guests, you can imagine what the party was like. EVERYONE danced, sang, drank, and partied til the last song was played. Susie even had a surprise of her own when George and the southern gentlemen of Pi Kappa Phi serenaded her in the midst of it all. She was shocked. Here are a few of the pics I was able to steal. Picking the Perfect Place!

Picking the perfect place for your big day can sometimes be a bit overwhelming! I totally understand. Remember to pick something that's YOU! Also remember to keep in mind the theme you are trying to stick with. For example, if you are going for a formal, traditional setting, I would gear away from a beach-side reception. You don't want guests in really fancy attire to be walking on the beach and getting sand all over their expensive dresses and suits. Also remember to consider the time of year you are getting married. If you are a South Florida native, you know how HOT it can be in the summer. It may make more sense to keep your guests inside in the cool A/C. You also never know what kind of stormy weather you may encounter that day, and not every venue can accomodate a Plan B. It can become very stressful. Below are a few of the amazing venues I've worked at in the past. Get inspired, get creative, and start planning! It's never too early...

Carolina & Eladio's Wedding Story!

At my very first bridal show, I met this bride! She was getting married at the Sofitel Hotel and she wanted to see what the vendors in attendance had to offer. After a few weeks, she contacted me. We totally hit it off and so the planning began.

Carolina and Eladio have been together for years. They have a little boy (ring boy) that was just a piece of pie! So sweet and so cute. They are amazing parents, from what I can see, and they carry a special bond that is clearly written all over their faces.

Their wedding consisted of silver fortuny linen and blush pink accents. The flowers were beautifully created by Jorge Nevot and consisted of gorgeous vintage bases with a victorian style centerpiece. Their photographer was Ron Wood! Such a great guy. He had an amazing "first look" session where I snagged a few pics of my own. He brought a MAC computer screen and in the middle of the party started uploading wedding pics as he took the shots. People were actually viewing the pics during the wedding. AMAZING! Everyone was so impressed.

A photobooth was brought in and guests were allowed to take headshots as a keepsake. A duplicate copy was created and placed in a scrapbook which was handed to the couple at the end of the night with cute love notes all over from their guests.

They had an amazing crowd. Needless to say it was a total party when the hora loca began. Six Columbian dancers performed three numbers and then brought out all the party favors which rattled up all the guests.

It would only be appropriate to start off by first thanking Victor Franco for referring me these amazing clients. They are both beautiful inside and out! With just a few months to plan the big day, it was one of my all time favorite. The ceremony and reception were at Red Fish Grill. The weather held up and actually ended up being the most amazing afternoon and evening. No rain, no waves, no worries. It was picture perfect! Thank goodness.

Guests were greeted with a preceremony cocktail and enjoyed some live instrumental music while we all anxiously waited for the bride to arrive. Once we began, we all witnessed an amazing ceremony and enjoyed a spectacular meal. We had the choice of three entrees, all cooked to order.

We accented the entire reception and ceremony area with varaiations of the color orange to match the modern chairs provided by the venue. We added to the beachy theme by offering starfish wrapped with orange ribbon to hold the place cards. Mia Bella Events & Design designed and created the menu cards and the place cards. Orange orchids adorned the dining tables, cake table and dessert station. The chuppaha had hanging orchids adorned by Jorge Nevot, of course.

And of course, to end the night...a firewoks show! Talk about "going out with a bang!" Nice surprise for the guests!

From the moment I met them at their tasting, we totally hit it off! Ralph & Vivian were such a fun couple. They were referred to me by Fetes & Events. I loved this couple; full of energy and humor! Their wedding was simple and yet very elegant. They offered a vintage approach and handed out the CUTEST scratch-off tickets as favors. They were definitely "lucky in love." Their sign-in book was my all time favorite! They took engagement pictures and had an album created with a fifties theme! AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! BEYOND CREATIVE! It's bitter sweet ending for me because they were so fun to work with, but I am glad they can now call each other husband and wife! Congrats you two! XOXO

With a classic look and pure elegance, this event was one for the books! The JW Marriott in Brickell was the hotspot of the night! There were so many details and goodies for the guests to enjoy. From gorgeous overlays and one-of-a-kind centerpieces by Jorge Nevot, to custom favor boxes and wine stoppers, there was much to leave guests talking! The bride and groom hired an incredible band that gave a brilliant performance throughout the evening. At the end of the night, we set up a cute exit table that offered guests mini cake pops to take home. We decorated the table with "Sweet Dreams" frames all around. Great touch! The guests loved the added attention to detail. The pictures speak for themselves. Thank you Izarys and George for trusting in me on your very special day! I had a great time! XOXO

Juntos Hasta Viejo!

I had the pure honor of working this high energy and unique wedding. Jeny and Alex wanted everyone to feel as though they were at a Cuban get-away. It all started with a custom PASSPORT invitation. The details were amazing, to say the least. The room was all lit with green uplighting and white paper palm trees were added with amber uplighting to add to the effect. She used burlap linen with a pretty ivory overlay to add elegance. Afterall it is a wedding. She offered little shotglasses and Cuban cigars on a "favor table" for guests to enjoy. The flower girl carried a coconut with hanging orchids and the bridesmaids carried small fans with handing flowers. AMAZING work by Landys Flowers. We alternated centerpieces between tables. From pineapples to tikki torches, the room was transformed into a tropical paradise. There was so much energy and excitment. This couple enjoyed every single second of the night. A true pleasure! This wedding was full of soul. It was a gorgeous day and this couple decided on a mix of ivory and gold. We created amazing accents using colorful centerpieces and ivory linen. A little clever favor was the idea of handing guests with mini bottles of St. Germaine. It's a liquor which actually carries the same name as the newlywed's last name. Cute touch! Guests danced and laughed the entire night. I couldn't have asked for a better crowd.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of working with this couple. It was definitely a learning experience. The event was catered by Fetes & Events and the staff and I worked quickly to transform the ceremony to the reception! It was nuts, but looked absolutely amazing. The chuppah was all white with gorgeous arrangements made of calla lilies and hydrangeas. They decided on a classic white look with yellowish lighting to set the mood complimented by silver chivarri chairs and silver chargers. They decided on a triple pintuck linen which always offers a classic look. They had a martini luge, a coffee bar and over 12 different hors d'oeuvres. They had a carving station with delicious meats and BBQ lamb chops fresh off the grill. Here are some of the shots I was able to take for your enjoyment.

This couple had romance written all over them. They were so cute together, and so easy-going. No need to ask the guests to dance, they were already on the dance floor. It was such an amazing crowd.

Dania and Alex decided on a classic white linen with silver chargers, black napkins and red accents. It was so simple, yet so intimate and picture perfect. The music was soft and the experience was full of laughter, happiness and romance. I am so glad I was able to play a part in their big day! Below are some teaser pics! Enjoy.

Purple Passion: Congrats Jeanine & Chris

This wedding was incredible! It was fun, energetic and beautiful! Jeanine and Chris exchanged vows at St. Francis on South Beach and then headed over to the Spanish Monastery to celebrate! With a vintage venue, we designed a classic look with a modern twist. We chose purple uplighting to set the mood and purple accents to contrast her navy triple pintuck linen. We incorporated colored classic florals and alternated high and low centerpieces between tables. If you are looking to work within your budget, a high/low combo floral arrangement is a great way to help reduce costs. Her favors were little rum balls wrapped in a purple box. The smell of rum was delicious! Jeanine's first dance was a mix between the Foxtrot and the Tango, and her dress was fabulous!

I was referred this wedding by Fetes and Events. Getting to know this couple was so much fun. Veronica is into photography and used her talents as part of an inventive invitation idea and Gianfranco is in a band. A live performance was offered to guests and the newly weds as they enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife. The couple wanted to be different throughout the entire planning process, and that was exactly what we did. They chose a beautiful silver/grey linen and their centerpieces had succulent plants as part of the arrangement. Amazing! Veronica's dress was gorgeous paired with a trendy birdcage headpiece and the bridesmaids each had on a different style short silver dress with high stiletto heels. The couple decided on a 4 course meal, with guest selection of beef, fish, or veggie entrees. Can I just say..."delicious!" They had a coffee station, photo booth and dessert/candy table in a back room which we kept calling the recreational room. Their guests were never bored. It was an overall success! Thank you Veronica and Gianfranco for allowing me to be part of your special day! I'm so happy you were pleased with my services. Thanks, Randy, for the awesome pics.

Happy New Year Everyone! Mia Bella is so excited to start this year with such amazing friends and family. I welcomed the new year with a little fiesta of my own. It was a small gathering, but it was nice and affordable. Here are some of the pictures I took to share with all of you. The whole event catered to about 15-20 people. It was festive and fun. Little touches sometimes make all the difference. Check out my pics and see if you get inspired to host your own little event next new year. After all, you have 12 months to start planning.

I have to make a comment about my meatballs and my cousin's punch! Amazing and so easy to make. They were a total hit!

Dayma and Daniel Get Married!

This couple was awesome! Daniel was a little nervous about all the details at first, but we ironed everything out and it was all amazing. Dayma was wearing the most beautiful dress that even matched the flowers on her cake. So many details! She even had a mini couture jacket to match her dress! The tables had mini bottles of liquor for the guests to take home. The centerpieces were lit up at the bottom of the vase with an LED light that matched the color of their linen. AMAZING! The ceremony and reception was at the Deering Estates. Can I just say GORGEOUS! Daymita and Daniel...it was a true pleasure. Hope you had fun in Europe!!! Keep in touch!

Happy 6th Birthday Gio! Let's Hero Up!

It was a great day for a birthday celebration. The theme was SUPER HERO SQUAD. It was so cute. Food choices were "wolverweiners," meatballs, specialty BLT wraps, pasta and tuna/cilantro dip! We designed and catered the event! From festive jello treats and yummy food, to obstacle courses and games, we brought it all to life! Gio had a blast, needless to say.

So I'm totally inspired. 2010 was a great kick-off year for Mia Bella, but I am dreaming BIG! Gianna's Baptism Event!

Look at this face! I had the pleasure of working on this Baptism with the Duran family. After the ceremony, we headed to Novecento in Coral Gables. Guests were greeted with mimosas and then joined the family for a delicious Saturday brunch buffet. I made the centerpieces that morning which totally added height to the room. There were menus on each place setting and then we offered champagne shots for the toast right before dessert time. AMAZING event! Everything was gorgeous!

Christmas Wedding

I decided to share some of the details that I had in my wedding. I chose chocolate pearl brown and red as my color theme. Everything from linen and napkins to curtains and charges fit the theme. My ballroom had mini lights above the dance floor that gave a subtle romantic feel. The guests had a blast. I had thank you letters and menus on each place setting. The live band was a total hit! I also ordered candy apples as favors and had a little card attached to it that said "You're the apple of my eye." I also had shot glasses that had our anniversary date. Each guest had a tequila shot to get the party started. It really was the most amazing night of my life.

Angie's Turning 50!

Well I had the pleasure of designing and coordinating this 50th Birthday party for my mother, Angie. It was a Beatles themed Party. Angie loves their music and it was no surprise that this was her theme choice. She had an absolute blast and so many friends and family members gathered near. Take a look at the cake! It was amazing! It was an exact replica of the Beatles drum. Thank you Cakes by Eda! We had lime green and dark green balloons all over the room to add a festive feel. Green and black were the colors we used to represent the Beatles' Apple Record label. We also had the most creative invitations. I created this vision for the invitations and Sofie at Little Luxuries brought it to life. They were a hit. We also had black and white pictures of her life posted around the room. We played Beatles music for the first 2 hours. Everyone left happy! Great night! Special thanks to Debbie, Anthony and Dashiel for all their help.

My name is Victoria, but everyone calls me Vicky. I've always had a desire to plan events and I finally made the decision to make my dream a reality. I am 28 years old and I married my college sweetheart, Alex, on December 26, 2008. (Yes, the day after Christmas) I don't have any children as of yet, but Alex and I are sooo ready for that next chapter in our lives. Here's our New Year's picture! (Wanted you to see what my hubby and I look like) I am currently enrolled at Nova Southeastern University working on my Masters in Business.
